As a member of the Division of Livestock Sciences my research interests lie mainly in the on-farm welfare assessment of dairy cattle. Within the European Union Reference Centre for Animal Welfare - Ruminants & Equines, I am mainly concerned with the identification of i) open norms that need clarification on how to assess compliance, ii) indicators that can help official inspectors identify welfare issues and iii) methods for assessment tailored for official inspections.
