Welcome to the Division of Organic Farming!
In Austria, with its high company and area percentage organic farming plays a vital role. It is the mission of the Division of Organic Farming to contribute substantially to the advancement of organic farming and nutrition through research and teaching. Doing so, we also take its specific systemic nature into account. Disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary results are evaluated based on their effects for the overall system.
Three working groups operate at the Division of Organic Farming: the working group Soil Fertility & Cropping Systems, the working group Knowledge Systems & Innovation as well as the working group Transdisciplinary System Research. You can find out more about our research work (topics, projects, publications) under the section Research and Working Groups. Details on courses at and offered by the Division can be found under the section Teaching.
The history and mission statement of the Division can be found under the section About the Division. A list of our staff members can be found under the section People. The section Service provides the interested public with information on organic farming and related topics, related links as well as various downloads. News of our as well as other divisions at the Department of Sustainable Agricultural Systems are published in the section NEWS.
